If there’s one thing that’s for sure in this world, it’s that you simply cannot get enough greens to satisfy your good gut buddies. And when you start to avoid lectins – you’ll find your cravings for dark leafy greens will skyrocket.

But, there are so many good reasons to get your greens. For instance, there’s this added benefit – if you get your greens, they’ll start to suppress your appetite for the bad stuff that helps make people fat.

Now, studies have shown that the phytochemicals in spinach dramatically reduce hunger for simple sugars and fats in humans.1And of course, that’s one reason why it’s a key ingredient in thisGreen Smoothie – which makes a perfectly delicious breakfast drink. You are on your way to a great dr gundry breakfast.

Of course, you can follow the recipe below as it’s written, but you can also put your own spin on it. For instance, if you love coconut – add some!

Or you can throw in some 72% dark chocolate bits for a polyphenol boost. You can even toss in some carrots to sweeten it up.

There is a reason people love our lectin free carrot muffins recipe. And blueberries are okay, too, when they’re in season (that’s April – October, depending on where you live).

The 3-Day Detox Green Smoothie Recipe

Total Prep Time: 5 minutes | Servings: 1

Dr. Gundry's 3-Day Detox Green Smoothie Recipe (3)

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce or any dark green lettuce
  • 1⁄2 cup baby spinach
  • 1 mint spring, with stem
  • 1⁄2 avocado
  • 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3 to 6 drops ofStevia extract
  • 1⁄4 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup tap or filtered water

What To Do:

Simply place the ingredients in a high-powered blender, and blend on high until smooth and fluffy. Add more ice cubes if you want. DONE!

And if the smoothie is too thick for you, feel free to add a little more water. You can also make a triple batch, and refrigerate it for up to three days in a covered glass container. Also, your kids will love this too!
