Gynecology

Austria is one of the countries with the highest quality of gynecological care in the world. The semi-annual to annual gynecological visit is standard in our country. Use this offer regularly for prevention!

I can detect diseases at an early stage that would only become identifiable years later through thorough and careful examination of the inter genitals, through intravagin*l smears and through ultrasound examinations.

Since the introduction of the mother-child pass, every woman must undergo at least 5 visits to the gynecologist during pregnancy, as well as an internal check-up and a midwife consultation. This means that most pregnancy-related diseases can be diagnosed and treated in good time.

Complaints of the vulva and vagin*

Gynecology - Vienna Female Medcare (2)Infections of the vulva and vagin*

Feelings of itching and burning in the intimate area are frequent, very stressful and frustrating complaints for girls and women. Especially if they recur despite treatment.

In order to get rid of the discomfort, you first need a detailed anamnesis and diagnosis, as well as an individualized therapy plan. A sustainable therapy does not only rely on the medicinal aspect of fighting against the germs, but also on the development of a functional and defensive vagin*l flora. Even the most persistent and recurrent vagin*l infections can heal. Alternative medical concepts are promising in this case and have no side effects. I would be happy to advise you!

HPV infections / bad PAP smear

It is normal for sexually active women to catch HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) at some point. However, attention must be paid to those patients whose immune system is unable to recognize the virus and thus unable to fight it. Infections of the cervix, vagin* or vulva that have existed for years can lead to cancer. Regular precautions can be taken with PAP smears and HPV smears starting at the age of 30 to help detect dangerous persistence of viruses in good time. I am happy to take over your care for existing HPV infections and accompany you safely through said infections using conventional, as well as complementary medical methods accompanied by close controls (smears, colposcopy, a painless biopsy if needed and conization if absolutely necessary).

Responsible care is still important, despite HPV vaccination because not all high-risk human papilloma viruses are affected by HPV vaccination.

PAP 3, PAP 3 d or higher and thus "bad" PAP smears can be indications of vagin*l infections, vagin*l atrophy or HPV infections with tissue dysplasia (precursors of cancer cells). I will gladly explain all findings and their significance to you, give you expert advice and provide you with professional medical care.

Condylomas (genital warts)

Condylomas are contagious but benign genital warts in women and men. It is important to start treatment quickly to prevent infection of the partner. Treatment options range from ointment treatment to surgical removal of the warts. Complementary treatments can also successfully heal genital warts. The HPV vaccination provides lasting protection against condylomas and many HPV viruses.

Skin diseases in the genital area

Benign skin diseases in the genital area of girls and women are the most common cause of itching, burning and feelings of soreness.

In addition to fungal infections and bacterial vagin*l infections, complaints regarding the vulva are usually caused by eczema and allergies, as well as autoimmune diseases such as lichen sclerosus and psoriasis.

In order to find an effective treatment, I carry out a thorough physical and diagnostic examination. Then I look for the most effective therapy that yields the least side-effects.

Diseases of the abdomen

Gynecology - Vienna Female Medcare (3)Menstrual cramps

Slight menstrual cramps, moderate abdominal cramps, pulling in the legs and lower back during the first day of bleeding are considered normal. Severe pain, heavy bleeding, nausea or failure to cope with everyday life and irregular menstrual bleeding are not normal, but also not "fatal". In the case of such menstrual problems, I would ask you to speak to me about them. A gynecological examination and a detailed anamnesis are necessary in order to find the cause of the complaints and to start a suitable therapy. Complementary medical methods are often promising, don’t result in side-effects and are very pleasant.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a benign proliferation of uterine lining outside of the uterine cavity. With every menstrual period, these scattered “cell-islands” cause severe discomfort at the site of their colonization. This can affect the intestines, the bladder, the pelvic wall, the ovaries, the uterine muscles (adenomyosis) and even the upper abdominal organs. The consequence of which being excessively severe pain during menstruation that could possibly be accompanied by stool and urinary problems, as well as frequent pain during sexual intercourse. Chronic lower abdominal pain and infertility can be secondary diseasesof endometriosis. I offer detailed consultation, in the case that you suspect endometriosis, in which I consider the various possible therapy options in order to find the ideal treatment method for you.

Infections of the abdomen

vagin*l infections, which mainly manifest themselves through itching, burning and soreness, as well as fishy smelling discharge, are either caused by fungi or bacteria. Painful blisters are usually caused by genital herpes. Some of these germs are contagious, others only spread in the vagin* when the natural vagin*l flora is disturbed. Stress, overexertion, taking antibiotics, visiting the spa or pool (chlorinated water) and sweating in the intimate area can lead to an unfavorable vagin*l environment, in which fungi and/or bacteria such as Garnerella and Enterococci can “grow over” the vagin*l flora and cause typical complaints. Genital herpes can also recur after a severe initial infection through weakened immunity. Chlamydia is also a major problem. I recommend regular examinations for young women, in the case of a possible chlamydia infection. Chlamydia tends to cause no or rather mild lower abdominal pain. However, the spread of the germ in the abdominal cavity often leads to infertility. If the infection is detected in time, it can easily be cured.

It is rarely the case that bacteria ascending through the uterus and fallopian tubes into the abdominal cavity cause severe diseases such as fallopian abscesses, but these possibilities must also be taken into consideration.

PCOS

Increased facial and body hair (hair around the nipples, on the thighs or in the area of the navel), acne, too rare menstruation and difficulties in getting pregnant indicate polycystic ovarian syndrome. It often begins at puberty. Many women suffer from a mild form, which can be cured by gentle, holistic treatment methods and lifestyle counselling. If this is not enough, then efficient medicinal therapies are always available.

Gynecological tumors

The cancer smear from the cervix (also called PAP smear after the doctor Papanicolaou) is part of the routine gynecological check-up. It is used to detect diseases of the cervix such as inflammations caused by infections, atrophy and, above all, carcinomas, as early as possible, in order to start effective treatment as soon as possible.

Benign abdominal tumors such as myomas and ovarian cysts should also be checked regularly, even if no complaints are made. It is rarely necessary to operate on them immediately. If you are concerned about any findings or feel that the findings have not been sufficiently explained to you, you are welcome to visit me for a second opinion and further advice. Please bring all previous findings with you. I will explain the diagnosis and all treatment options in detail and recommend a suitable therapy for you.

Pelvic Organ/Genital Prolapse

The female pelvic floor is a part of the body that is strained by pregnancy, childbirth and heavy physical work. Prolapse problems (cystocele, rectocele) accompanied by or not accompanied by incontinence mainly affect women after several and/or difficult births and/or women with weak connective tissue.

There are many therapy options, such as pelvic floor training, pessary therapies, Hatha Yoga with a focus on the mula bandhas, biofeedback and even operative rehabilitation. After a detailed examination and anamnesis, I can work with you to develop a therapy plan tailored to your specific needs.

Diseases of the female breast

Gynecology - Vienna Female Medcare (4)Breast examination/training in self-examination

A breast examination is part of every gynecological check-up from the beginning of puberty. I am happy to train you in self-examination. If you start early with regular palpation of your own breasts after your monthly menstrual period, the probability of detecting changes in need of treatment at an early stage increases. If you feel a change, please come to an examination.

Tumors of the female breast

Every diagnosis of a conspicuous breast finding results in a great psychological strain. The most important step in this case is a reliable and rapid diagnosis of the benign or malignant nature of a breast tumor. My close-knit health network makes this possible in a timely and precise manner.

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

Gynecology - Vienna Female Medcare (5)

PMS is a complex of symptoms that occurs between the middle of the cycle and the beginning of menstruation. More than one third of all women of childbearing age suffer from PMS. The symptoms are manifold: Touch-sensitive and aching breasts, bloatedness, exhaustion, digestive problems, aggression, sadness, depressive moods, a lack of self-esteem and severe restrictions in the professional and social environment are frequent side effects.

PMS can be treated most effectively by my homeopathic team in close collaboration with Dr. Anna Safai. From a homeopathic point of view, PMS makes the patient's inner conflicts more visible and in combination with other specific symptoms, can be a direct indicator of the individual homeopathic constitutional remedy. In this way, PMS and other chronic complaints can be treated effectively.

Operative Gynecology

In addition to obstetric surgery (e.g. caesarean section), surgical gynaecology includes all operations on the vulva, uterus, ovaries and breast. The surgical techniques of gynaecology include laparatomy (open abdominal surgery), laparascopy (buttonhole technique) and hysteroscopic surgery (uterine endoscopy). I offer all operations and carry them out together with a specialist from the respective specialist area in order to be able to offer you the highest level of safety and quality.

But it is not always necessary to operate right away:

Fallopian tube pregnancies can in many cases be treated with medication. This spares you from having to undergo surgical laparoscopy.

Heavy bleeding during the onset of menopause can be successfully treated using simple methods (complementary medical therapies, insertion of a hormone coil, etc.), as oppose to removing the uterus which was the standard procedure not so long ago.

In many cases of malignant breast cancer, depending on the findings of course, a breast preserving operation is possible. Sometimes this is achieved even in advanced stages via neoadjuvant chemotherapy, which reduces the size of the cancer before the operation.

I will clarify the necessity of an operation in extensive detail. In this detailed discussion I will advise you comprehensively on possible alternatives and, if necessary, on the methodology of the gentlest possible operations in accordance with the latest medical standards.

Accompanying homeopathic therapy

With gynecological operations, significant success can be achieved by means of a homeopathic accompanying treatment: Homeopathy prevents wound infections and accelerates wound healing. This means faster recovery of mobility after the operation and less pain. If an increased loss of blood has occurred during an operation, homeopathic blood formation in the body can be stimulated. Circulatory problems, dizziness and headaches resulting from anemia due to bleeding usually disappear within a few hours. Every patient I operate on is treated homeopathically, if she so desires.
